Bart Vanhercke
Directeur
Bart Vanhercke, docteur en sciences sociales, est directeur (depuis mars 2010) et chercheur Senior (depuis février 2006) à l'Observatoire social européen (Bruxelles). Il est donc chargé de la stratégie de recherche générale, de la gestion quotidienne de l'équipe et des stagiaires réguliers, de la supervision des projets, du budget, des appels d'offres et de la stratégie de communication. Ses recherches actuelles portent sur le socle européen des droits sociaux et la dimension sociale de la nouvelle gouvernance économique européenne, thèmes sur lesquels il travaille également en tant que membre associé du personnel académique (depuis 2016) de l'HIVA (Onderzoeksinstituut voor Arbeid en Samenleving), ainsi que (depuis 2008) au CESO (Centre for Sociological Research) de l'Université de Leuven.
Son expérience antérieure en matière de recherche portait sur l'européanisation des politiques nationales d'inclusion sociale, de soins de santé et de retraite en lien avec les différents instruments politiques de l'UE (droit, gouvernance et financement) et sur les défis sociaux de l'UEM et de l'élargissement de l'UE. En mars 2016, il a obtenu son doctorat (cum laude) à l'AISSR (Amsterdam Institute for Social Science Research, Universiteit van Amsterdam). Bart Vanhercke a été nommé, pour l'année universitaire 2013-2014, professeur associé à l'Institut d'études européennes de l'Université Saint-Louis (Bruxelles). Il a été nommé Policy Fellow à l'Institute of Labor Economics (IZA, Berlin) en novembre 2015. Il est l'auteur d'environ 130 articles, chapitres de livres, volumes et rapports.
