Silvia Girardi is a postdoctoral researcher in social policy and the sociology of work at the Department of Sociology, University of Copenhagen, where she is affiliated with the Employment Relations Research Centre (FAOS). She holds a PhD in Sociology from KU Leuven (Belgium) and has previously conducted research and social policy evaluation in Luxembourg and Italy.
Her research focuses on the relationship between the welfare state and work, with particular attention to employment relations, social protection, and inequalities. She combines sociological and policy-oriented approaches, as well as quantitative and qualitative methods, to examine how institutional arrangements shape labour market and social policy outcomes, including with a focus on the lived experiences of the social actors involved.
