Implementing the European Pillar of Social Rights through eco-social policies: governance options

-

The main objective of this research project is to explore how to strengthen the EU’s just transition framework by reinforcing the socio-ecological dimension of the European Pillar of Social Rights (EPSR) – using the upcoming review of the EPSR’s Action Plan to reinforce links between the EU’s green transition and social policy frameworks, and related governance structures.

The project will therefore focus on the governance arrangements through which more integrated eco-social policies could be effectively formulated and implemented in EU policy-making, in the context of the revised Action Plan. In particular, we will examine: a) social and civil dialogue structures; b) EU economic governance (the European Semester); c) legislative procedures; and d) EU Funds.

This research is based on knowledge co-creation techniques and aims to develop a knowledge community (composed of academics, policy-makers and stakeholders operating at both EU and national levels) that creates knowledge on the topic at hand.
