L'OSE est partenaire d'un nouveau projet de recherche (2022-2025) financé par le programme Horizon Europe de l’UE et portant sur les "Systèmes de protection sociale et les politiques du marché du travail pour la résilience économique et sociale en Europe" ("WeLaR"). Le projet est coordonné par le Research Institute for Work and Society (HIVA, KU Leuven) et rassemble des instituts de recherche de six pays de l'Union européenne : Autriche (ZSI-WIIW), Belgique (OSE), Allemagne (ZEW), Italie (UNIPG), Luxembourg (LISER), Pologne (ALDGATE-IBS) - ainsi que la Serbie (EKOF).
L'OSE est partenaire d'un nouveau projet de recherche européen Horizon2020 intitulé « Working, Yet Poor » (WorkYP). Le projet (2020-2023) est coordonné par l'Université du Luxembourg et implique huit universités européennes ainsi que trois institutions spécialisées dans les droits sociaux, dont l'OSE et le réseau européen de lutte contre la pauvreté (European Anti-Poverty Network – EAPN).
L'OSE a signé un contrat avec l'Institut syndical européen (ETUI) pour mener des recherches qui aboutiront à la 21e édition du « Bilan social », dont les éditeurs seront Bart Vanhercke, Slavina Spasova et Boris Fronteddu. Parmi les contributeurs de cette année figurent Karen Anderson, Anniek de Ruijter, Dalila Ghailani, Scott Greer, Éloi Laurent, Matteo Mandelli, Martin Myant, Jill Rubery, Sebastiano Sabato et Ramón Peña-Casas.
OSE and HIVA (KULeuven) started new research for the Belgian Social Security Administration (FPS), with a view to updating and improving the indicators used in the Belgian National Social Report and the National Reform Programme. As part of this research, Ramón Peña-Casas provided a detailed picture of (very) low work intensity households in Belgium, using register data available in the ‘Data Warehouse Labour Market and Social Protection’ (Datawarehouse marché du travail et protection sociale), which is managed by Crossroads Bank of Social Security.
