Labour Market Reform and the Future of Europe after Brexit

08-12-2016

Speaker: Daniel Clegg, Senior Lecturer, The University of Edinburgh

Discussants: Amandine Crespy, Lecturer, Université libre de Bruxelles
Steven Van Hecke, Assistant Professor, KU Leuven

Chair: Bart Vanhercke, Director, European Social Observatory

During this Lunchtime Session Daniel Clegg will argue that – perhaps – the departure from the Union of the UK, which has been an enthusiastic advocate for a ‘neoliberal’ approach to labour markets, opens a window of opportunity for a wider policy and paradigm reassessment in Europe. Amandine Crespy and Steven Van Hecke will respectively provide feedback on the ‘social causes’ and ‘political consequences’ of Brexit, also in the light of the recent US elections.
