Public services

The OSE is a partner in this new project led by the European Public Sector Union (EPSU). The partnership also includes the School of Education of the University of Nottingham. The project aims at investigating the extent to which public sector trade unions – in particular in the area of education – have been involved (if at all) in the European Semester. The project should provide public sector trade unions with tools to achieve effective involvement in the Semester. The OSE will conduct case studies in France and Italy.

The OSE is starting a new research project for the European Federation of Public Services Union (EPSU). The aim of this contract is to analyse the questionnaire responses provided by EPSU afiliates, and to undertake interviews as part of an in-depth evaluation of the sectoral social dialogue in the public services (incl. central and local administrations, hospitals, gas and electricity). Ramón Peña-Casas presented preliminary results at EPSU’s Social Dialogue and Collective Bargaining conference on 13 & 14 December 2012.
